Mr Strongo to Mexican Government,

M. le Ministre,

I have the honour to invite Your Excellency's at-

tention to a matter of which you have already had some cog-

nizance during Your Excellency's previous tenure of the

high post which you now again occupy: I refer to the claim

of the China Commercial Steamship Company against the Mex-

ican Government,

The full details of this claim are already in the

possession of the kaxican Ministry for Foreign Affairs, so

that it is superfluous for me to recapitulate them here,

nor is it necessary for me to dwell on the peculiar diffi-

culties which have attended this case, inasmuch as they

have already been carefully explained in the provious oor-

respondence.
